Movie Night Feb 6 2010

I will spend another Friday night checking out the “buzziest” flicks.

There is one local film in cinemas and I don’t think my GF would want to see Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson get it on.

What? Do YOU want to see Kimerald get it on???

Here are the movies that will take “centerstage” in the cinemas near you!

I’ll also enter what Rotten Tomatoes have to say about this!

Did you hear about the Morgans (13 PERCENT ROTTEN): Film stars Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker. UK’s Daily Mirror describes the movie to sitting under the dentist’s drill for 100 minutes. Talk about support for a fellow Brit!

The Princess and the Frog (85 PERCENT FRESH): Film features the voices of Anika Noni Rose and John Goodman. Disney returns to their “fairy tale” bread and butter and when they bring the former Dreamgirls chick and their tried and tested voice bet, expect a lot of good things from this movie. Plus, I think this is the first Disney fairy tale that uses a black princess as its lead.

Where the Wild Things are (73 PERCENT FRESH): Film stars Paul Dano and Forrest Whitaker. RT thinks this is an honest-to-goodness wonderful movie.

Legion (18 PERCENT ROTTEN): I saw this and I REALLY, REALLY HATED THIS!

Case 39 (11 PERCENT ROTTEN): Film stars Renee Zellwegger, Jodelle Ferland and Bradley Cooper. A bunch of Aussie critics maimed the film as either a non-scary and dumb movie, morally repulsive, or a movie bad enough to see.

Dear John (26 PERCENT ROTTEN): Film stars Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. Filmcritic thinks this is a “melodramatic coma of unconvincing puppy love”.

Paano na Kaya: Here’s a Philippine film which features Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. This is a movie made for Valentine’s Day so I guess you’ll probably see lovey-dovey scenes, icky romantic sentences, and a predictable ending.

Judging from the Rotten Tomatoes website, I’ll say the two kid shows gets the cake. Question is: do I want to see kid flicks during date night? I like Hugh Grant but I hate Sarah Jessica Parker. Dear John? Arrgh. Where is Zombie Land when you need it?

I wanted to watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs but it’s hard to scour it.

Anyway… GAME OVER!
