The Big Shamrock!

Before we had two Allens in Boston.

One Allen returned to the C’s but the other went south and found his way to Memphis.

Before that, there was Dino Radja and Eric Montross. They aren’t related with each other… but they basically look alike.

And then Jermaine O’Neal found that he wasn’t the only O’Neal in the house that Walter Brown and Red Auerbach built.

Ladies and gents, say hello to the Big Shamrock.

For the first time in his career, the 38-year-old Shaquille O’Neal is unwanted. No one offered him a gazillion of money to play for their squad. Instead he saw his championship chances blast out of proportions after he saw LeBron James ditch Cleveland to start a bromance with the Miami Heat.

There were talks of him playing for Atlanta. Even if Atlanta has improved with the acquisition of Joe Johnson, the Hawks isn’t really his cup of tea. Shaq wants to go out in style and the only possible chance the Hawks could have is by making it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

I wanted Shaq to join the Celtics because I think that every player should join the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs, the New York Knicks, or the Chicago Bulls before they retire. Even with the situation in New York, it’s good for a star to play in the large NBA markets.

Shaq joined LA and now they’ll see him in Boston.

I hate Kobe Bryant… only when they face the Boston Celtics. I believe that Miami gatecrashing the finals won’t happen overnight. I believe the Lakers will return to the finals to defend their championship against the Boston Celtics.

With the injury of Kendrick Perkins and the retirement of Rasheed Wallace, Boston managed to pick two vital cogs to keep their championship hopes alive. If you think this team is old, then how about explaining why the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz fought tooth and nail during the mid-90’s? Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Ron Harper, Luc Longley, and Toni Kukoc aren’t that young when they fought Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek, Byron Russell, Greg Ostertag, and Antoine Carr. Shaq will prosper against guys like Andrew Bynum, a player that had his way against the Celts during their finals matchup. When they need to go athletic, they can interchange Shaq with Jermaine. I honestly hate how they treated Jermaine after he was traded by Indiana to Toronto. Jermaine’s growth might have staled but telling that he can’t do shit is stupid.

So my favorite team will have a chance this season! I hope that these two would gel with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Nate Robinson, Glen Davis, and the rest of the Celtics because if Miami is the All-Star team of now…

… This was the all-star team we grew up and loved.

Hopefully he doesn’t turn a la Allen Iverson and instill false hope of the Green faithful.

Let’s go Boston!

Game over.
