The Great Khali Movie!

The only 5-Star match of The Great Khali?

Someone should ask me where The Great Khali learned how to wrestle because in an instant, I will tell you that I had no idea on wherever he learned those slow chops and those slow Irish whips.

But I will tell you this... he could be India’s Manny Pacquiao!

Well... that is... in a world that doesn’t know shit about cricket.

You are about to watch Kushti, a Bollywood film which stars The Great Khali. WWE is cool enough to let the producers use their Khali archives to further accentuate that he is indeed a big deal. The uploader, Saavn, uploaded the whole film and it is English subtitled. This is a story of a washed-up wrestler training another wrestler to fight the top dog in that area... and that’s The Great Khali.

Imagine if Batista signed on to play Pacquiao’s arch-nemesis in Wapakman! The buzz would have generated a lot of box office sales.

Manny Pacquiao should learn that marital issues are bad publicity stunts.

Anyway, the flick reminds you of those old school movies where Fernando Poe Jr., Rudy Fernandez, Philip Salvador, Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid, and those big-named action stars in a rural setting where there is a cute leading lady, a rich villain, an annoying sidekick, and goons with huge moustaches and body fit wardrobes. The father of the leading lady hates the leading man, defying the odds, people trying to be intelligent... these are some of the clichés seen also in the flick.

But one distinct thing you can’t take out is the dancing. I guess by this point a foreigner should understand that this is their bread and butter and it is tried and tested to dish out five minutes of awesome choreography.

This is not bad in any way. I can’t rate this as “Slumdog Millionaire” good, but it is entertaining nonetheless.

As for the wrestling, this is your typical David versus Goliath (Herbert Bautista versus Ruel Vernal if you can understand this) that ended with interference... in the ickiest of manners.

If you want to see it, click on the flick if you have two hours of your time to spare.

Game over.
