The Statmonkey of the Day: January 9, 2011

40+ scoring nights!!!

When Lebron James left for Miami, critics wondered if he can score as big as what he did back in Cleveland.

The answer is while I can’t see him averaging 30 points a night (at the moment he’s averaging less than 25ppg), he can still have sporadic 40+ games.

And yes, he’s the Statmonkey of the Day!

James and the rest of the Miami Heat churned out a win against the Portland Trail Blazers, 107 to 100. LBJ had 44 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

Almost winning today’s mark of awesomeness (hehe) are LaMarcus Aldridge, Steve Nash, JJ Hickson, and Pau Gasol.

Game over.
