Statmatsing of the Day - February 27, 2011

In a losing effort, Willie “Thriller” Miller was instrumental in trimming down the huge Alaska lead in the first half but still Ginebra fell short as the Kings were defeated by the Aces, 95 to 94.

LA Tenorio was spectacular in both sides of the spectrum. The last 25 seconds proved to be his time. After a miscue, Tenorio scored a cold-blooded triple with less than four seconds left and when Nate Brumfield was going to attack, he sealed his path and then snatched the ball.

But in terms of game-long brilliance, Miller was the Statmatsing.

Miller had 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist in their loss.

Brumfield had 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and a block to win Sunday’s import battle.

Other top performers included Alaska’s Joe Devance, Meralco’s Macmac Cardona, Tenorio, and Meralco’s Reynel Hugnatan. I’m also going to applaud Rain or Shine’s John Ferriols for experiencing some kind of career rebirth under Yeng Guiao.

Game over.
