Hulk Hogan: Retirement Party Pooper

Green with envy.

Edge had to not name Matt Hardy during his farewell address because he is a TNA guy. That sucks because the Edge and Christian versus The New Brood match (before they were called the Hardy Boyz) made them superstars. But you know what, maybe its Edge idea to not make a lot of fuzz on things. Besides... his farewell speech was awesome.

Hulk Hogan though is a TNA guy. In fact, he is the biggest TNA guy at the moment. And as a tribute to his idol, Edge spoke his name twice to further accentuate Hulk Hogan’s role in his career.

Moments after his shocking address, several reactions checked in.

Matt Hardy wrote in his Twitter:

“Heard Adam is retiring because of physical issues that won’t allow him to safely continue wrestling. He’ll be missed, we’ve certainly had our fair share of issues.. Both good and bad. But I tip my hat to Edge who is one of the greatest I’ve ever been in the ring with. Adam resides in NC now-sure I’ll run into him down the road. Glad that him & I are in a good place. We came in as friends, & went out that way.”

Meanwhile, Hulk Hogan also wrote something in his Twitter account:

“if any of the guys like me,Flair,Hardy,Andre,AA,Blanchard, orndoff,Henning would have listened to doctors we would have quit15yrsago, but I don’t know Edges working environment because they are a media company not a wrestling company. HH wrestlers work hurt!”

“What about Foley!   I bet EDGE still wants to keep wrestling,he’s one of the boys big time!!!   HH”

“my take is with a unfixable neck injury it’s over ,but he’s one of the boys and it will be hard to keep him down,he’s 4life HH”

“I’m not saying anything bad about Edge but he’s a real wrestler,Stone Cold and Cena had neck surgery and u couldn’t stop em,Or Edge it’s in Edges blood,he lives for this business he’s a real wrestler,he a lifer,he’s one of the real boys,he’s hard to hold down, that’s all. HH”

What the hell?

You see Edge is basically a dick for ruining Matt Hardy’s relationship with Lita. In the course of time, Hardy became a video nut and made a lot of things in the internet that can be perceived as loony. Sure, that Hardy Tweet could either be real or a work but it was great for him to offer kind words.

Hulk Hogan though tried to hug the spotlight by semi-taunting Edge.

Hulk will do anything for a moment.

The wrestling world is not always about Hulk Hogan. I am and never was a fan of Hulk Hogan. I was a fan of the smaller guys that can flash their brilliance in the ring. Guys like Rowdy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, British Bulldog, Mr. Perfect, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Shawn Michaels made wrestling an art form. Hulk sure drew a lot of attention but again, I would rather hail him for his role in NWO than during the era where he was the not-so-pretty predecessor of John Cena.

Sure YOU hate Cena. I don’t. Even if Cena plays the role of a goody-two-shoes tool, he loves the world he is, he continues to be respectful regardless the taunts, and he wants to better himself in the process.

I hate it whenever I see Terry Funk and those old guys wrestle. I hate it when I see news about Scott Hall’s problems. Scott Steiner is a shadow of his WCW self. Ric Flair wasted a wonderful Hall of Fame special to wrestle a couple of bad matches. Say what you want about The Ultimate Warrior but I’m fine with him staying in the ring as far as possible even if he is so tempted on coming back.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was wrestling in school gyms before he retired.

Chyna and Sean Waltman hooked up and did a porno.

What’s up with that?

I am not a fan.

I don’t like Hulk milking Edge’s spotlight. I for one thought it is uncalled for and out of line. Edge knows better. WWE knows better. Working injures exemplifies passion and dedication but at the same time it also means stubbornness and stupidity.

But checking out the tweets further, I noticed Hulk was directing his tweets to the WWE. If he just used Edge’s retirement as a way to dispatch sweet nothings to his former company, then don’t say anything about Edge. I mean... mention Vince McMahon and stay away from Edge. I am so disappointed with the reaction Hulk Hogan made that it further solidifies the fact that he is nothing more than a douche.

Edge needs to be healthy and needs to drink all the vitamins.

For Edge though, this is his moment. This is not TNA versus WWE. This is a moment for him to move on from wrestling and focus on other greater things.

Maybe he can embrace Christian after Captain Charisma wins Edge’s former belt in Extreme Rules?

Game over.
