The Cleveland Cavaliers were about to move their
game to another level.
Mo Williams was dead set to improve his
game and possibly he’ll have the chance to compete and win a NBA title.
However,
all hopes dashed when Lebron James
signed with Miami.
With
Lebron around, Mo Williams can become a top-tier star in the mold of Dennis Johnson. Without him... he’s
virtually a nobody. Williams is no Russell
Westbrook. He is not even an Eric
Snow if you think about it. The only reason why Mo Williams mattered was
when he associated himself with Lebron James. This was the fate of Mo Williams
before he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for Baron Davis. With
Cleveland struggling, he had no choice but to jump ship... and the Cleveland
fans supported him because he wanted to stay loyal.
Besides,
the trade of Williams to the Clippers brought them the 2011 first overall pick. Cleveland
owner Paul Gilbert will use this pick to get a talented player... to wash
away the bitter aftertaste known to many as Lebron James.
But
even outside Ohio, Williams remembers the days when he alongside Antawn Jamison, Anderson Varejao, Boobie
Gibson, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and JJ Hickson dreamed big with LBJ in taking
Cleveland to the top of the NBA.
This
is why you can’t blame Williams and the rest of the Cleveland fans from
breathing a sigh of relief when the Dallas
Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat
in six games to win their first-ever NBA
title.
Game
over.
